Update

Jambo!  (hello in Swahili)

Greetings from Kitale, Kenya.  I am beginning to get settled in and get adjusted to my new life here.  Things are going well and I am having fun with it.  Everything is an adventure from driving on the wrong side of the road to haggling with street vendors.   I have spent most of my time thus far with Ryan Schumacher visiting different areas we are drilling water wells at.  This week we are traveling to Kisumu to go drill some wells with the drilling team.  This will be the first time I get to help with the actual drilling process.  That should be an experience!!

The Love Mercy house where I am staying is very nice but is not without its third world problems...  Water shortages and electrical black-outs are the hardest obstacles to deal with so far.  Its nice to be able to take a nice hot shower after a long day or flush the toilet or wash the dishes...  What a luxury it is to have running water and electricity in our houses every day back home.  I am looking forward to going to the children's homes soon and meeting the recipients of Love Mercy's giving.  Love Mercy helps clothe, feed and house over 300 widows and orphans in this area.

Trying to get used to driving on the left hand side of the road and adjust to the food....  May take some time : ).  Over all, I am very encouraged meeting the team here and the work that's being done!  I feel like I will be able to help out in a number of different areas.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, love and financial support.  Without these, this trip would not be possible.  Please continue to pray for protection from sickness and that finances will continue to come in.

Thank you all so much!

Love, Sam
